Your Impact
The Automation Reliability Specialist ensures the reliability and performance of automated equipment that supports Lowe's distribution and fulfillment operations. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), conveyors, and related electromechanical components. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, system repairs, and documentation of all activities. The technician also supports safety compliance, process improvements, and system reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and optimize efficiency.
What You Will Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ASRS, conveyors, and other automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control issues.
- Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and emergencies to minimize operational downtime.
- Conduct inspections and system performance checks to identify issues proactively.
- Provide technical support to operations and assist with training junior technicians.
- Document maintenance activities and ensure clear shift-to-shift communication.
- Manage spare parts, warranties, and CMMS records to support equipment readiness.
- Follow all safety requirements (NFPA70E, Lockout/Tagout, PPE) and promote safe practices.
- Apply technical expertise on drives, motors, sensors, and system alignment.
- Partner with leadership on continuous improvement and system upgrades.
- Analyze maintenance data to recommend long-term reliability improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of capital investment planning, budgeting, and forecasting execution in concert with company annual operating plans.
- 5 years of business case analysis experience to justify capital investment roadmap supported through ROI analyses including IRR, Payback, cash flow considerations.
- 5 years mechanical experience on conveyor systems, MHE vehicles and equipment, and implementing preventative maintenance actions in support of a faced-paced, progressive distribution environment.
- 5 years strong operational understanding of warehouse management systems and integrations driven by warehouse execution and control platforms.
- 3 years of managing a team of direct or indirect reports.
- State-specific licensing (Oregon)
- Must not be colorblind (color recognition required)
