About Marvell

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

The Connectivity Business Group develops products for leading-edge optical interfaces. The products designed by this group require state of
the art digital signal processing, FEC techniques and the highest speed analog, digital and optical components in the industry.

What You Can Expect

The candidate will work within the connectivity group and work on systems DSP architecture and development of the next generation of digital
communication chips. The candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams including analog, digital, optical and firmware
engineers to architect the overall system.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understanding digital signal processing and digital communications for optical interfaces

  • Modelling/simulation/analysis of systems including high speed analog components (ADC, DAC, drivers, TIA), opto-electronic components (optical modulators, photodiodes, lasers), fiber impairments (CD, PMD, non-linearities) and DSP algorithms (calibration of analog and optical nonidealities, equalizers, carrier frequency/phase recovery, timing recovery, FEC)

  • Provide system analysis and support to cross-functional teams to design and implement advanced communication blocks in CMOS chips

  • Provide system analysis and support to bring-up, validate and debug advanced communication chips

  • Design experiments to collect/analyze data to enable definition of next generation DSP

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience. Or Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • A strong signal processing/digital communications background with an ability to analyze complex system level problems is
    required.

  • Strong programming skills in Matlab/Python/C/C++, in a Unix type environment, with good problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with debugging complex analog issues to improve system performance is required.

  • Additional background in optical systems, optical components and silicon photonic integration knowledge is highly
    desired.

  • Knowledge of digital design of DSP blocks will be a huge plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

193,700 - 286,600, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
