To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as an Inflight Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) Lead Instructor in the Inflight Training Department. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead and enhance the AQP for inflight instructors, ensuring consistent instructional development, delivery, monitoring, and improvement. This position bridges the gap between instructional delivery and oversight, supporting the Manager of Inflight Technology and Training Programs. The role includes designing and facilitating targeted AQP instructor training modules, maintaining instructional consistency through calibration, and monitoring performance data to uphold instructional quality and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have prior airline experience as a flight attendant or inflight instructor. This position will report to the Program Manager, Inflight Technology and Training.
Essential Duties:
- Design and facilitate targeted AQP instructor training modules aligned with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and internal benchmarks
- Lead instructor calibration sessions to ensure consistency in instructional delivery and evaluation
- Monitor and analyze instructor performance data to identify trends and support coaching efforts
- Serve as a reliable substitute instructor during classroom absences due to illness, vacation, or scheduling gaps
- Assist in the creation and revision of inflight curriculum materials for accuracy and instructional quality
- Apply operational knowledge of Embraer 145 and 175 cabin procedures to enrich training content
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate, and Smart Sheets to support training development and instructional planning
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
- Prior airline experience as a flight attendant or inflight instructor
- Bachelor’s degree in either education or aviation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, coach, and support instructors
- Skilled in analyzing performance data to identify instructional trends and opportunities for improvement
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and instructional needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience instructing in an AQP environment
- Familiarity with cabin operations for the Embraer 145 and 175 aircraft
- Experience in instructional quality assurance
- Flight Attendant Certifications
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in the use of Articulate and Smart Sheets Applications
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in training delivery
Work Environment:
- Standard office/classroom environment; use of computers, smart boards, tablets, and other instructional equipment
- Some travel may be required
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting to 25 pounds
