About the Role

ADI are looking for recognized industry leaders at the forefront of mixed-signal design. Play a key role in delivering ADI’s strategy to solve the world’s most complex challenges through deep collaboration with global leaders across core vertical markets.

As a Senior Principal Analog / Mixed-Signal Design Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority in the design and development of sophisticated mixed-signal integrated circuits. Your deep expertise will enable you to make critical technical tradeoffs across analog and digital domains, devise innovative solutions to complex problems, and provide technical leadership that influences ADI's technology direction and methodology. You will be responsible for driving advancements in mixed-signal design while mentoring other engineers and representing ADI's technical excellence internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced block and transistor-level design, simulation, evaluation, and debugging to ensure optimal performance across process, voltage, and temperature variations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product definers, verification, process, test, and application engineers to define specifications and features

  • Drive architecture development and innovation for new circuit designs and methodologies, contributing to IP development and patent generation

  • Drive innovation in mixed-signal design approaches, developing new theories and methods that advance the company's technological capabilities

  • Lead complex mixed-signal projects with significant business impact, directing work of engineering teams without formal management responsibility

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior design engineers, developing engineering talent and driving robust design practices

  • Drive regional university engagements to build and maintain strong talent pipelines

  • Drive external technical leadership and innovation through high-impact publications, active engagement with the broader engineering community, and the development of novel IP and patentable solutions that enhance ADI’s competitive differentiation

  • Partner with business leaders to influence product roadmaps and technology direction

Must Have Skills

  • Advanced Analog Circuit Design Expertise: Extensive knowledge of analog circuits including amplifiers, filters, and data converters with proven ability to solve complex design challenges independently

  • Mixed-Signal IC Design Mastery: Advanced understanding of mixed-signal integration, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion techniques, and system-level integration challenges

  • Simulation and Modeling Mastery: Advanced proficiency with simulation modeling tools (SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre) and ability to develop custom simulation methodologies

  • Integrated Circuit Layout: Deep understanding of physical IC layout considerations and experience optimizing layouts for performance, including guiding layout engineers on critical aspects

  • Communication and Influence: Outstanding ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, drive design reviews, and mentor junior engineers across multiple complex projects

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 15 years of relevant industry experience

  • Strong record of accomplishment and innovation (ex: leadership of commercially successful development efforts, patents, presentations at leading conferences, publications in leading journals)
