About the role
Job Description:
In order to support our global logistics network and mission-critical operations, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Transport Project Manager (d/f/m)
Are you motivated to develop complex transport solutions and drive innovation within a high-stakes environment? We are looking for a strategic thinker to lead our national and international military transport projects. You will join a dedicated logistics team where precision meets agility, ensuring that our high-tech assets reach their destination safely, legally, and on time.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your location
Located about an hour’s drive north of Munich, Manching is an up-and-coming market town that offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. Here, you can enjoy the quality of life in the countryside while the pleasures of near-by cities are still within easy reach.
Your benefits
Financial: Attractive salary, special payments, and employee stock options.
Balance: 30 days paid vacation, extra days off for special occasions, and flexible working models (job sharing, part-time, individual timeouts).
Growth: Excellent upskilling opportunities and international development prospects within the Airbus Group.
Health & Family: On-site medical services, canteen/cafeteria, and a kindergarten close to the site.
Extras: Employer-funded pension, discounted car leasing, insurance subsidies, and public transport support.
Culture: A diverse environment with over 140 nationalities where every voice is heard.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive concepts for national and international military transports while ensuring 100% compliance with legal and safety regulations.
End-to-End Project Lead: Take full responsibility for the planning, organization, and execution of inbound and outbound transport projects—from the initial tender phase to final delivery—balancing time, cost, and quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Navigate complex export control, military regulations, and international trade laws to ensure seamless cross-border movements.
Risk & Safety Management: Conduct detailed risk analyses and develop robust safety concepts; create and monitor budgets while maintaining strict cost control.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal departments, government authorities, and external partners to streamline processes and provide regular status reporting to senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze existing processes to identify synergies and optimization potential, driving efficiency and quality across the logistics chain.
Desired skills and qualifications
Education: A completed degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
Professional Experience: Several years of expertise in project management within transport and logistics, ideally with a focus on military environments or sensitive cargo.
Regulatory Mastery: Deep familiarity with international transport regulations (ADR, IMDG, IATA-DGR) and a clear understanding of export control frameworks (e.g., ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use, KrWaffKontrG).
Communication: Excellent command of both English and German (written and spoken); additional languages are a valued asset in our international team.
Soft Skills: High sense of responsibility, resilience under pressure, and a collaborative team spirit combined with strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.
