Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Storage Consultant to design, operate, and optimise enterprise storage platforms across multiple technologies. This role is hands‑on and customer‑facing, focused on delivering stable, performant, and well‑governed storage solutions in complex environments.
You’ll work across on‑prem and hybrid environments, supporting critical workloads and advising customers and internal teams on best‑fit storage solutions.
What you’ll do
Design, implement, and support enterprise storage platforms across HPE, NetApp, Hitachi, and Pure
Provide technical consultancy and operational support to customers and internal teams
Lead storage design, migration, and modernisation activities
Operate and optimise SAN, NAS, and object storage environments
Support storage for virtualised and container platforms (VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management
Lead incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis for storage-related issues
Implement storage security, data protection, and resilience best practices
Support and optimise backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
Produce and maintain clear documentation, designs, and operational runbooks
Contribute to standards, patterns, and repeatable storage solutions
Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call roster as required
What you’ll bring
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms
Proven experience across multiple vendors (HPE, NetApp, Hitachi, Pure)
Solid understanding of SAN (FC/iSCSI), NAS, and storage networking
Experience supporting storage in VMware and containerised environments
Strong troubleshooting skills across performance, capacity, and availability issues
Experience with storage migrations and technology refresh programmes
Understanding of data protection, replication, and DR architectures
Clear communication skills and a pragmatic consulting mindset
