Rehabilitation Specialist/Therapist - Behavioral Health- Per-Diem

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist/Therapist to provide functional assessments and therapeutic group therapy programming to meet individual needs and treatment goals for patients on the inpatient units. Work within a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to enhancing inpatient activity and programs throughout our hospital. Give back to the profession and mentor interns throughout the year. Coordinate the group leaders to provide a broad range of group therapy experiences.

The per diem shift request per month is two weekdays availability (M-F) and two weekend days (Sat+ Sun) and on average the schedule request can run between 8-12 days per month (subject to Dept. Staffing needs) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Behavioral Health Center.

Preferred Criteria 

  • License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT) or Occupational Therapy (OTRL) from New York State Department of Education or related field such as Music Therapy

  • Master Degree

Required Criteria

  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis, principles and practices of 12 step programs, and the application of psychosocial rehabilitation

  • Knowledge of psychiatric/behavioral health conditions and the application of psychosocial rehabilitation and community re-entry principles.

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Associatio

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
