SUMMARY

This role is a principal selling agent for VAI Education's teacher and student products and services. Achieve short- and long-term objectives, including discovering new customers and increasing market share within existing markets. This is a salary position that is a blend of inside and outside sales.

FUNCTIONS

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Develop and nurture user relationships with decision makers, including teachers, school principals, superintendents, and district administrators.
  • Educate potential users and community members about innovative teacher and student programs.
  • Create and execute strategic territory expansion plans.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and activity reporting.
  • Participate in network-building opportunities, including conferences, events, speaking engagements, and industry/company functions.
  • Support sold events as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in education or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in a consultative K-12 educational environment.
  • Demonstrated record in developing new business, building strong relationships, and meeting goals and objectives.
  • Classroom teaching experience and familiarity with project-based learning are a plus.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude, with the ability to roll up sleeves and get things done swiftly.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the education market and basic knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Our educators develop inquiry-based approaches for K–12 education to help students and teachers prepare the next generation of problem-solvers, while our Graduate School offers a rigorous, research-intensive Ph.D. program in molecular and cellular biology.
