Harness Design Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)
Role:
- Work with the harnessing design team on designing flight and test harnessing
- Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings of spacecraft harnessing
- Work with cross-functional teams to define interfaces between different subsystems
- Use CAD programs to route harnessing in 3D
- Utilize EE fundamentals to select appropriate design components based on various requirements like voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate
- Work with production to fabricate in-house cables
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in mechatronics or electrical engineering (or equivalent technical degree)
- Interest in learning about, designing, and working with various spacecraft systems and subsystems
- Familiar with power and data transmission concepts
Bonus:
- Experience with Zuken (or other harness design software)
- Experience with various connectors and wire types including MIL circular and D-Sub/microD
- Experience with 3D CAD software like Solidworks
