Job description:

Position reports to       :                   Lead, Electrical Commissioning

Purpose and Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and testing of electrical equipment prior to and during energisation
• Perform electrical LV, MV and HV switching when required
• Perform fault-finding, verification and measurement of electrical parameter on equipment
• Participate in equipment punchlist walkdowns to identify and record incomplete work and defects if required
• Perform corrective work (repairs) on electrical equipment when required
• Complete commissioning checksheets in a timely manner and add defects and incomplete work to the punchlist
• Communicate and coordinate with different discipline teams to ensure efficient use of resources to maximise productive work
• Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the commissioning manager and/or leads

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree In Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
• 3 to 5 Years Experience working in a project construction and/or commissioning environment
• Good understanding of project drawings such as P&IDs, SLDs, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Good knowledge of electrical switchgear, protection devices and electrical equipment
• Alibility to fault find and rectify issues an advantage
• Ability to use electrical PPE, to work in live HV, MV and LV electrical installations
• Knowledge of Zambian electrical safety standards and regulations
