Scope of Position
The HR Coordinator I supports core HR administrative functions with a focus on payroll, onboarding, employee records, and HR program coordination. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own payroll administration, including weekly and semi-monthly processing, reporting, W-2 distribution, and resolution of day-to-day payroll inquiries
- Process new hires (full-time and temporary) in Workday and maintain accurate employee data in HR systems (Workday/SAP)
- Maintain training records, track training compliance, and support programs such as training grants and educational reimbursement
- Post and maintain HR communications, including bulletin board updates and plant communications
- Coordinate employee recognition efforts, including service awards and employee acknowledgements
- Order safety shoes and support basic health and safety administrative requirements
- Coordinate company events and employee engagement activities
- Maintain and organize employee records, including scanning and filing of termination documentation
- Provide backup support across HR functions as needed
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR or administrative role
- Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Exposure to payroll processes is an asset
- Experience with SAP
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
