The Product Manager will operate within the Wealth Management Technology group, which is focused on delivering tools and applications that support the lifecycle of planning & implementation. The associate will have knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to identify, analyze, and document complex business requirements and processes using input from industry and/or business units. The associate will have the ability to work with increasing independence under guidance and collaboratively with other team members to progress the applications forward. Continuous learning of financial planning concepts, advisor use cases and internal technology functionality. Will assist in issue triage and escalation, partnering with team members to assess impact and prioritize fixes. The associate will have a general understanding of the project lifecycle within technology and an understanding of SDLC concepts including agile and waterfall methodologies.
Responsibilities:
This is an individual contributor role in support of the Planning product(s).
This role works closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers and Business Stakeholders to execute against an established product roadmap.
Assists in requirements gathering for Wealth Management technology, centered on the Financial Advisor practice.
Reviews operational procedures and methods, maps current business processes, defines and analyzes business activities, identifies best practices, and recommends changes for improvement.
Develops an understanding of the business case behind all projects, including the motivating factors for all stakeholders.
Consults with stakeholders and supports user representation through design, development, validation, and release.
Develops functional knowledge and may act as a subject matter expert (SME) resource over time to provide internal consulting services to assigned functional areas(s); coordinates activities with other functional areas and facilitates the implementation of cross-functional business system modules and/or enhancements.
Locates, gathers and analyzes information to find potential solutions to issues, as well as best practices. Evaluates the potential benefits of such solutions to the organization.
Assists in identifying requirements for each phase of testing and develops test plans and scripts, as required.
Supports release planning and coordination, partnering with product and engineering leads to prioritize features and collaborates with other business units and technology teams as necessary for release management.
Provides input for communications and documentation to support releases.
Partners with technical business units to research, analyze and resolve system and process problems.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Previous Experience:
One (1) to three (3) years of experience supporting product, business analysis, or technology delivery efforts, including gathering requirements, assisting with systems analysis, process mapping, testing, and stakeholder collaboration is highly preferred.
Knowledge of the following highly preferred to required:
Financial Services industry experience is preferred but not required, with a preference to knowledge of financial planning, goals based planning or cash flow planning.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to document requirements, participate in stakeholder discussions, and support delivery across cross-functional teams.
Aptitude to want to understand the root cause of issues.
Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management, and requirements gathering.
Information technology support and technical documentation.
User acceptance testing principles, with the ability to develop test plans and scripts.
Some travel may be required.
Ability to:
