Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview 

The Sr. Manager, GDCL OUS (MEA) leads Global Distribution & Customer Logistics operations across markets outside the United States within the Middle East & Africa region. This role is accountable for ensuring effective distribution, strong customer logistics performance, and reliable service delivery across diverse and complex markets. The position plays a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business continuity in a highly regulated environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead GDCL operations across the Middle East & Africa region, ensuring effective distribution and customer logistics execution. 

  • Drive consistent service performance, delivery reliability, and customer satisfaction across OUS MEA markets. 

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to support end‑to‑end order‑to‑delivery processes. 

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and internal governance requirements across all markets. 

  • Manage regional operational risks, service disruptions, and escalations, serving as a senior point of contact. 

  • Lead, develop, and coach regional GDCL teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

  • Establish and monitor KPIs, service metrics, and operational performance indicators. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost control, and service outcomes. 

  • Support transformation, change, and separation‑related initiatives impacting GDCL operations. 

 

Qualifications 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field (required). 

  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred). 

Experience and Skills: 

Required: 

  • Typically 8–10 years of progressive experience in distribution, logistics, customer logistics, or supply chain operations. 

  • Proven experience leading regional operations or teams in a matrixed, multinational environment. 

  • Strong understanding of distribution networks, logistics operations, and customer service processes. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance, risk, and operational complexity across multiple countries. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Ability to deliver results in a regulated, fast‑paced environment. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries. 

  • Experience working across Middle East and Africa markets. 

  • Exposure to large‑scale transformations, carve‑outs, or business separations. 

  • Familiarity with ERP, logistics, and supply chain systems. 

  • Track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives. 

Other: 

  • Language: English proficiency required; Arabic or other MEA languages preferred. 

  • Travel: Up to 25% regional and international travel. 

  • Certifications: Supply chain, logistics, or operations certifications preferred.
