About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer – Backend to define and evolve the architecture of our AI Agentic Platform. You will lead cross-team initiatives and drive the design of systems that enable scalable, reliable, and extensible AI-driven workflows.

This role requires deep backend expertise along with strong judgment in applying emerging AI and agentic patterns in production systems.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Lead design of complex backend systems powering AI-driven workflows.
• Define platform abstractions for orchestration, context management, and service integration.
• Drive long-term architectural strategy.

AI Platform & Agentic Systems

• Shape systems enabling agent-based execution, workflow orchestration, and automation pipelines.
• Guide design of context-aware services and structured interaction models.
• Ensure responsible integration of AI capabilities into production systems.

Cross-Team Impact

• Lead initiatives spanning multiple teams and services.
• Influence roadmap and technical trade-offs across platform capabilities.

Scalability, Reliability & Security

• Ensure systems meet high standards for performance, fault tolerance, and security.
• Drive observability, incident response, and operational excellence.

Mentorship & Engineering Excellence

• Mentor engineers across levels.
• Elevate engineering practices and design standards.

Qualifications

Experience

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.

Technical Expertise

• Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, microservices, and platform engineering.

AI & Platform Leadership

• Experience building or guiding systems incorporating AI workflows or automation.
• Strong understanding of orchestration layers, event-driven systems, or agent-based patterns.

Leadership

• Ability to influence across teams and drive large technical initiatives.
