About Epirus
Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques which allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.
Job Summary:
Epirus is seeking an individual with Department of Defense, Army operations, budget analysis, Combatant Command (CCMD), and rapid acquisition/stakeholder engagement experience to join the team. You will have a key role supporting Epirus’ Army and Joint business development growth strategy, with a strong emphasis on the U.S. Army’s acquisition and transformation pathways (including Portfolio Acquisition Executives (PAEs)), Combatant Commands (CCMDs), and Service Component Commands supporting CCMDs. This includes driving outreach, requirements analysis, rapid integration, and rapid fielding opportunities for Epirus’ cUAS capabilities. You will also provide joint support to the Government Affairs team in support of Epirus’ diverse business objectives and rapidly expanding U.S. footprint. Working at the intersection of Army and Joint Growth, Government Affairs, Strategy, and Business Development, a collaborative, team-player mentality is critical in this role. This is a unique opportunity to drive U.S. national security mission objectives at an unparalleled pace. This role will report to the Senior Manager for Army and Space Growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Government Affairs team’s strategy through Army-, Joint-, and CCMD-specific insights, external engagement, and cross-company coordination to facilitate regulatory, legislative, and operational action in support of company objectives.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on Army budget activities (including PAE portfolios), CCMD and Service Component Command Unfunded Priority List (UPL) / Unfunded Requirements (UFR) items, and other broader requirements documents, identifying how they create opportunities for Epirus’ Leonidas cUAS/HPM business development and rapid fielding.
- Manage and develop relationships with key Army customers, including PAE Fires, Maneuver Ground, and Layered Protection, T2COM, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Army ASCCs, Service Component Commands supporting CCMDs, and the company’s established relationships with USCENTCOM, other CCMDs, and JIATF-401.
- Collaborate with the Government Affairs and Growth team to develop and execute strategies for growth, business development, rapid prototyping/integration, and expansion within the U.S. Army, Joint Force, and CCMDs, leveraging pathways such as Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA)/Section 804, OTAs, and JIATF-401 initiatives.
- Monitor and engage with key enablers including JIATF-401’s Counter-UAS Marketplace, CSOs, RFIs, industry days, and PAE solicitations/white papers to accelerate Epirus solutions to operational units and CCMDs.
- Arrange meetings and briefings, and conduct follow-up with key Army, PAEs, JIATF-401, CCMD, and other decision-makers who impact U.S. policy, regulations, requirements, and funding in support of company objectives.
- Represent the company at conferences, military exercises, think tanks, and other organizations to elevate familiarity with Epirus and its Leonidas cUAS capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Drive to strengthen US National Security.
- Working knowledge of Congressional, DoD, Army, or Joint/CCMD processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. A writing sample may be required.
- Team player with an ability to work across teams and an all-hands-on-deck willingness to support diverse company efforts. Organized, and comfortable working in a rapid and fluid environment.
- Detail-oriented, strong organizational and administrative skills.
- A record of working hard, solving complex problems, building trust laterally and up and down leadership chains, and embracing a culture of respect and collaboration.
- 3 + years of experience working with the federal legislative/appropriations process, DoD/Army budgeting and acquisition processes, CCMD requirements, or defense stakeholder engagement. Experience in a military, congressional, or defense industry role is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with the Congressional calendar and budget cycle, Army PPBE/POM process, UPL/UFR development, JIATF-401 initiatives, and PAEs rapid acquisition pathways.
- History of devising and driving a strategy with a team in a defense business development or requirements context.
- Experience and/or adaptability working with external consultants, military operational units, Service Component Commands, CCMDs, or interagency stakeholders (e.g., JIATF-401).
- Past lobbying, government affairs, or Army/Joint-focused business development and rapid fielding welcome.
- Existing security clearance – future one may be required.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
