About the role
The Vacuum Truck Operator will work with the Vacuum Truck Services team to provide exceptional service to our clients. Services provided include (but are not limited to): pumping residential and commercial septic and holding tanks, and loading and hauling of various fluids/ material.
Key Accountabilities
Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting
Follow company policies and procedures as well as various on-site requirements
Provide exceptional service to all clients and professionally represent GFL
Accurately complete numerous and various documents, including pre/post trip inspections, manifests, log books, VCRs, etc., in a legible manner to meet compliance requirements
Maintain detailed and accurate company documentation to accompany work performed
Participate in safety programs such as safety meetings, near miss reporting and job hazardWork independently while managing time and productivity and communicate effectively
Knowledge of Reg. 347/558, WMHIS, MTO regulationsDrivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures
Perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation
Participate in after hours/weekend on-call program
Perform other duties assigned
Experience, Qualifications & Education
Three (3) years of driver/operator experience is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess at minimum, DZ license and submit current abstracts, personal and CVOR (no demerits)
Must have solid written communication skills in order to complete required paperwork
Must have exceptional verbal communication skills to be able to interact with internal and external customers
Must be eligible to work in Canada
