From games on TV to mobile and web, Next Games is a Netflix first-party studio that develops approachable games to entertain a diverse, global audience.

We design games that Netflix members can enjoy every day as part of their subscription. Our games released on Netflix to date include TV games Boggle Party, Pictionary Game Night, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, and Underwatermelon, as well as Netflix Puzzled, available on mobile devices and on tudum.com.

The Role

As the Principal Visual Development Artist, you will serve as the primary visual catalyst for Netflix Puzzled, defining the artistic direction for the game and its expanding array of features. This hands-on position requires a seasoned artist with deep proficiency in illustration, design, and motion to produce high-impact imagery that raises the product's quality standards.

You will partner with the Art Lead, Game Design, and Product teams to maintain a unified and engaging visual aesthetic. Additionally, you will oversee external collaborators, offering precise art direction and critiques to ensure superior, consistent output across all project assets.

Your mission is to advance the game's visual brand and interactive feel, ensuring that every element is expressive, reactive, and enhances the overall player journey.

Key Responsibilities:

You will lead through direct execution, crafting top-tier illustrations and UI components that establish a benchmark for excellence. By developing a sophisticated motion language, you will improve game responsiveness and feel, all while coordinating with the Art Lead to uphold visual coherence.

In addition to creative production, you will manage external partners with detailed briefs and constructive feedback, working alongside Game Design and Product to ensure visuals align with gameplay objectives. You will share ownership of the game's artistic integrity, constantly seeking ways to refine the visual and motion quality.

Skills and experience:

Illustration & Design Expertise: You have a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality illustration, visual design, and style development, ideally in shipped games or interactive products.

Motion Design Expertise: You have deep experience in motion design for interactive products, with a strong understanding of timing, easing, and how motion drives feedback and clarity.

Art Direction Experience: You have experience guiding visual and motion direction and maintaining consistency across a product, including working with external partners or distributed teams.

Visual Fundamentals: You have an excellent understanding of color, composition, shape language, and visual hierarchy, with a focus on clarity and player readability.

Collaboration & Communication: You can clearly communicate creative vision, provide constructive feedback, and align stakeholders across disciplines.

Industry Experience: You have significant experience in games or a related interactive field, with a track record of delivering high-quality visual and motion work.
