About the role
The Senior Accounting Analyst performs complex accounting activities to support accurate and timely financial reporting within the Costa Rica Finance Center. This role owns key processes across month-end close, financial analysis, and compliance, while driving efficiency and standardization.
What You Will Do
- Execute and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and cash processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
- Approve journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls
- Perform financial statement analysis, identify variances, and support resolution of discrepancies within defined timelines
- Execute assigned internal controls, including SOX requirements, ensuring 100% compliance with audit standards
- Coordinate closing activities and deliverables with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely completion of reporting cycles
- Support migration of Record-to-Report processes by documenting workflows, validating data, and ensuring successful transition milestones
- Partner with regional and local accounting teams to resolve issues, escalations, and inquiries within agreed service levels
- Develop and maintain process documentation to support standardization and knowledge transfer across the team
- Train and support team members by onboarding new hires and reinforcing process adherence and best practices
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort, improve cycle times, and increase reporting accuracy
- Support audits and ad-hoc requests by delivering accurate data and documentation within required timelines
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas, charts, or macros)
- English proficiency at B2 level (intermediate)
- Experience working in a shared services environment within a multinational organization
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX)
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
