About the Role:
The Marketing Communications Lead will be a key member of Alcoa’s global communications team, reporting to the Director, External & Marketing Communications. This position offers an opportunity to combine strong communications skills with business and product acumen.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, communication skills and business acumen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in events management and familiarity with communications tools (i.e., social media, email, website content) and how they can fit into a marketing communications strategy.
In addition to working within the Global Communications team, this position will coordinate closely with Alcoa’s global commercial team.
- Develop and execute Alcoa’s marketing communications, ensuring alignment across the global commercial team with a cohesive narrative that is consistent across our regions and enhances Alcoa’s brand within key markets
- Partner with internal and external communications to develop and execute storytelling opportunities re: product offerings and customer successes to reach new external audiences through a variety of external channels (digital, social, trade publications) while deepening the knowledge of our workforce and the connection between their work and our customers
- Strategize, develop and execute commercial team activities at global trade shows (i.e., recommending and securing appropriate sponsorship level; collaborating with vendors on booth design and build, collateral materials and giveaways; serving as point person for on-site meetings).
- Strategize, develop and execute customer appreciation events in collaboration with the global commercial team
- Serve as primary day-to-day liaison between Global Communications and Commercial Team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, public relations, or marketing
- 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or marketing communications, ideally in a corporate environment
- At least 2 years of experience in event planning, including trade show appearances
- Experience interfacing with commercial and/or sales teams
- Strong project management and organizational skills to deliver results in a matrixed environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team player
- Travel requirement: 20%
