Job Responsibilities:

What you can expect

The Indirect Buyer is responsible for the efficient, cost-optimized, and compliant procurement of non-production-related goods and services. The role ensures reliable availability while balancing quality, cost, and delivery timelines, and actively contributes to the continuous improvement and optimization of procurement processes.

  • Manage strategic and operational procurement activities with a focus on indirect services (e.g., engineering services, IT, facility management, marketing) as well as indirect materials
  • Plan, manage, and execute tenders, including analysis and evaluation of supplier offers
  • Independently lead price and contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to drive sustainable cost optimization
  • Select, qualify, and develop suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as applicable compliance and procurement regulations
  • Close collaboration with internal departments to ensure complete and clear clarification of requirements
  • Monitor delivery timelines, contractual terms, and service levels
  • Maintain and manage purchasing and supplier master data in ERP systems (SAP, Coupa)
  • Build and maintain long-term, strategic supplier partnerships
  • Support the optimization of procurement processes and cross-functional projects

What you’ll bring

  • Completed commercial training or a degree with a focus on procurement, supply chain management, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in procurement, ideally in indirect sourcing
  • Solid knowledge of contract law and professional supplier management
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or Coupa
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent German and English (B2), both written and spoken
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with assertiveness
  • Strategic mindset and entrepreneurial thinking with a clear focus on results
  • Analytical approach and structured, independent way of working
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to actively drive change
  • Availability to travel internationally on a frequent basis
  • Experience in the automotive industry or a comparable industrial environment
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO, ASPICE, TISAX)
  • Experience in international procurement and working with global suppliers
  • Advanced project management skills and experience managing complex sourcing initiatives
  • Ability to inspire others and support change initiatives
  • Strong capability to build and maintain long-term, sustainable supplier relationships
  • Hands-on mindset with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
  • High level of adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment
