Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Track Laborers for a traveling crew based in Illinois to support track construction and maintenance projects. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring travel to various job sites and working in physically demanding environments.Who We Are

Job Description
In this role, you will perform track maintenance and construction tasks, working as part of a team to ensure safe and efficient rail operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, traveling for projects, and being part of a hardworking crew.

Schedule:
Full-time; schedule varies based on project needs, travel, and site requirements
Compensation:
Starting at $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
Duties
- Drive spikes and assist with track installation and maintenance
- Move and set cross ties and sections of rail
- Shovel ballast and assist with track alignment
- Adjust and lubricate switches
- Tighten track bolts and hardware
- Check track gauge and cross level
- Carry and use track tools and equipment (including track jacks ~40 lbs)
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy materials and equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work on uneven terrain
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel and work at various job sites
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Military experience is a plus
