About the Role
GFL Environmental is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Wall Warden to join our team in Terrace, BC. This position plays an important role in maintaining safe and efficient operations at our disposal site by monitoring incoming traffic, inspecting loads, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load Inspection: Check incoming loads for prohibited, hazardous, or recyclable materials to ensure environmental compliance.

  • Traffic Control: Direct customers and vehicles to appropriate dumping, recycling, or disposal areas in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Safety Enforcement: Ensure all visitors follow site safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and remaining in designated safe areas.

  • Site Maintenance: Help maintain overall cleanliness of the site, clear debris, and support routine upkeep of work areas.

  • Operational Security: Manage access to the site, assist with opening and closing gates, and monitor for unauthorized or illegal dumping activities.

  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers using the facility.


Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Safety-conscious with attention to detail

  • Able to stand, walk, and perform light to moderate physical duties

  • Previous experience in waste management, traffic control, or site operations is an asset

  • Valid driver’s license considered an asset
