Clinical Pharmacist (Advanced Analytics) - Python, SQL & Power BI with Advanced Analytics and Automation.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Apply clinical pharmacy expertise to identify potential costsavings opportunities based on guidelines, literature, utilization patterns, and siteofcare considerations.

  • Attend and actively participate in clinically focused meetings, discussions, and workgroups.

  • Review clinical guidelines, drug compendia, and published studies to inform analytical hypotheses.

  • Use Python and SQL to explore, analyze, and validate data related to clinical and financial opportunities.

  • Leverage and extend existing automated data pipelines and analytics workflows.

  • Work with large healthcare datasets, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, member eligibility, and encounters data.

  • Partner with analytics engineers to translate clinical concepts into scalable, automated analytics solutions.

  • Build and maintain analytical outputs and visualizations (e.g., Power BI) to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Present insights and recommendations clearly to clinical, business, and leadership audiences.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to share knowledge, improve processes, and provide coverage across initiatives.

Key Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • Active PharmD with strong clinical pharmacy training and experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.

  • Demonstrated ability to combine clinical judgment with datadriven analysis.

  • Experience working with healthcare data such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility, or encounters.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving skills in ambiguous problem spaces.

  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to nontechnical audiences.

  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools (preferred).

  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or cloudbased analytics environments (preferred).

Position Purpose:

  • Leverage clinical pharmacy expertise and informatics capabilities to inform, design, and operationalize data‑driven strategies that improve quality of care, health outcomes, and utilization efficiency. Serve as a clinical subject‑matter expert who translates emerging evidence, clinical insights, and business priorities into scalable analytical solutions by engineering automated data pipelines, integrating internal and external data sources, and delivering decision‑ready insights through Power BI or other visualization platforms to demonstrate clinical impact and financial value.

  • Serve as a clinical pharmacy subject‑matter expert, engaging in complex clinical discussions and critically evaluating emerging literature to inform population‑level strategies, program design, and clinical interventions.

  • Translate clinical concepts, quality measures, and utilization drivers into analytical frameworks that support scalable, data‑driven decision‑making across pharmacy and broader healthcare initiatives.

  • Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines by integrating multiple internal and external data sources to support clinical analytics, performance monitoring, and program evaluation.

  • Support the development and evaluation of clinical programs and initiatives by linking clinical insights to quality, utilization, and financial outcomes, including identification of savings opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Provide clinical oversight and validation of analytical outputs to ensure findings are clinically sound, evidence‑based, and actionable.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of informatics capabilities by identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, automation, reproducibility, and scalability of clinical analytics solutions.

  • Develop and deliver analytically rigorous dashboards, reports, and visualizations (e.g., Power BI) that clearly communicate trends, opportunities, outcomes, and value to clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.

  • Partner cross‑functionally with analytics, data engineering, IT, and business teams to ensure accurate data interpretation, appropriate clinical context, and alignment with enterprise data standards and governance practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree (PharmD., M.S) in Pharmacy. 3+ years of clinical pharmacy experience in managed care, health plan, hospital, or related setting preferred

1+ years Advanced analytical skillset, including hands on experience with SQL, Python, and Power BI to analyze healthcare data and translate insights into scalable, decision ready outputs required

1+ years of experience partnering with technical or analytics teams (or independently building solutions) to move data from source systems into analytical environments required

  • 1+ years exposure to data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data modeling, automation), preferred

  • 1+ years of experience supporting strategic initiatives that link clinical insights to financial, or utilization outcomes, preferred

  • 1+ years of experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms, preferred


Licenses/Certifications: Current state Pharmacist License with no restrictions required

Pay Range: $107,700.00 - $199,300.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
