Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa seeks a lecturer to teach the school's professional orientation course and serve as a faculty mentor to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will teach up to three 1-credit sections per semester of an introductory class preparing students to engage with the school's academic and co-curricular programming.
Adherence to programmatic goals and curriculum objectives is required, as the school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field.
Two years of professional experience in advertising, public relations, journalism, sports media, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education
Demonstrated ability to mentor students and/or emerging professionals
Additional professional experience beyond the required amount in advertising, journalism, public relations, sports media, or education

The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication has a dynamic ACEJMC-accredited undergraduate program and a strong master's program. The school has undergraduate majors in advertising, journalism and mass communication, public relations, and sports media and communication, as well as a new interdisciplinary major in digital storytelling.
