As an IQA - Incoming Inspection Quality Auditor- CMM, you will drive Incoming Quality Assurance initiatives by using your knowledge of GD&T, CMM, and precision measuring instruments to audit and inspect purchased and manufactured parts for conformance to specifications inbound. By inspecting each piece to ensure alignment with design records, engineering standards, and other non-print requirements, you ensure quality is maintained and any defects are identified, addressed, and documented. Documented CMM experience required in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment.
What To Expect
You will use your skills in collaboration and coordination as you work with teams to schedule resources and prioritize work in order to meet production schedules. Working together with the Caterpillar team, you will support team People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost initiatives and support Continuous Improvement initiatives through regular use of the CI card process. As a member of the Incoming Quality Assurance team, you will have experience with CMM-Coordinate Measuring Machine, and Material Review Coordinator - MRC. You will audit and inspect purchased parts, assemblies, internally manufactured products and other materials for conformance to design records, engineering standards and non-print requirements, using CMM and precision measuring instruments and devices.
Relevant experiences gained in a personal or professional setting must be described in application as they relate to the minimum requirements (welding for instance).
Pay Rate and Schedule:
The position includes an extension wage of $29.93/hour and a comprehensive day-one benefit program, generous time off, and retirement benefits!
Openings available on 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, – 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization.
Required Qualifications- What You Will Bring:
Resume or complete work history required
3 years of inspection related experience in an assembly/fabrication manufacturing environment (in combination)
Ability to read blueprints/engineering drawing
Experience using inspection measuring tools
Desired Qualifications- Additional Preferred:
Advanced SAP, Microsoft products, and AQE
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and 1E Specs
Experience with calibrating and using torque tools, mechanical tools, inspection hand tools, surface plates, gage blocks, and other setup tools
Experience troubleshooting and rework in production manufacturing positions such as paint, fabrications or assembly
Utilizing computers for production transactions and experience with Windows, SAP, Microsoft products, and AQE
Heavy crane equipment
1 years’ experience of Paving Products

Compensation: Grade L07; $29.93HR + shift differential and generous benefits
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
As an inspector, you will be on your feet and active for a minimum of 8 hour shifts and frequently lifting a maximum of 35 pounds.
Our manufacturing facility is a clean environment with frequently changing temperatures that may require climbing on equipment, machines, ladders and various step stools to work at different heights. This position may also require you to work in tight spaces, or in awkward positions including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting, forward head, and rotation of neck. In this position you will operate overhead cranes, use fine motor skills to repetitively grasp, push, pull and rotate, and pull manual torque tools to torque requirements of at least 250 Newton meters. Using overhead cranes will expose you to magnets that may impact medical devices.
All production team members prioritize safety by wearing required PPE such as hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed/metatarsal foot gear, and protective clothing as required by area.
Summary Pay Range:
$29.93 - $38.85Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
