Finance & Control department in Circle K Business Centre in Riga, Latvia is a part of Global Finance organization and responsible for full accounting and financial reporting cycle for Circle K European operations. Accountant for Netherlands business unit in Station Accounting Team

Type of Employment: Permanent

Location: Riga, Latvia

Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA

Main responsibilities:

Respond to queries from site managers, representatives of business units, and/or external partners if required;
Check, prepare and process journal entries, based on information received from the business unit and other partners;
Issue invoices to franchise stations and prepare payouts;
Answer questions from other Company units on processed financial records;
Perform periodical closing procedures;
Perform balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis, resolve discrepancies and errors;
Handle audit requests;
Execute and document process controls related to financial compliance;
Contribute to process improvement projects.

Main requirements:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or a student within this area;
Previous experience in accounting, finance, or audit field;
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and willingness to learn new systems;
Excellent organizing abilities and attention to detail;
Fluent English (verbal and written); proficiency in Dutch is preferred but not required, to communicate with colleagues across Europe;
Ability to analyze things, and conduct investigations on discrepancies.
