Respiratory Therapist – Pulmonology - Full Time -Days -

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG) are part of the physician enterprise of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems affiliated with two world-renowned medical schools. Through primary care and multispecialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.
Essential Job Duties:
- Administers pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, flow volume loops with and without bronchodilator,
- DLCO, MVV, Maximum Pressure, Body Plethysmography, and Broncho Provocation studies (Methacholine).
- Administers six minute walk test, Oximetry pulse studies, 02 therapy, Metered-Dose Inhalers and Nebulizer treatment.
- Educates patients regarding pulmonary medications and use of oxygen.
- Maintains pulmonary function equipment and associated supplies. Includes proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment per policy.
- Completes reports for pulmonary function tests and distributes to ordering physicians.
- May Schedule appointments when necessary.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
This is a full time Monday-Friday 40-hour workweek. Hours may vary from 8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm based on operational needs. Located in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Travel and coverage may be required to other Hudson Valley Medical Group locations as needed at Yorktown, Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on Hudson & Cold Spring.
Preferred Criteria:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care
Required Criteria:
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy
- New York State Respiratory Therapist License
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS)
