Job Description

Role Summary

The UKG Operations Lead will be responsible for end-to-end management, governance, and optimization of UKG systems and operations. The role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of HR processes including Core HR, Payroll coordination, Time & Attendance, Talent modules, Reporting, and integrations, while leading system improvements and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

UKG System Ownership & Operations

  • Act as the primary owner of UKG platform operations across modules such as Core HR, Payroll integration, Time & Attendance, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Performance (as applicable).
  • Ensure system data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness at all times.
  • Drive day-to-day operational stability and issue resolution related to UKG.

Process & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless HR operations.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex system, data, or process issues.
  • Review and optimize HR workflows within UKG to improve efficiency and user experience.

Change Management & Enhancements

  • Lead configuration changes, upgrades, releases, and new module implementations in UKG.
  • Coordinate UAT, documentation, and deployment of system enhancements.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of HR processes through system automation.

Vendor & Compliance Management

  • Manage UKG vendor interactions, support tickets, SLAs, and release communications.
  • Ensure system compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
  • Support audits by providing reports, data extracts, and process documentation.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Oversee delivery of standard and custom UKG reports and dashboards for HR and leadership.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of workforce data used for decision-making.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and data analysis requests.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and mentor UKG/HRIS administrators or operations team members.
  • Define SOPs, control mechanisms, and governance frameworks for UKG usage.
  • Provide training and enablement to HR users and business teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in HRIS / HR Operations with strong UKG (UltiPro) exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with UKG configuration, administration, and support.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, payroll interfaces, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • UKG Pro certification(s).
  • Experience in IT/technology-driven organizations.
  • Exposure to global HR operations and multi-country setups.
  • Experience managing HRIS audits and large-scale system transformations.
