- Obtain prior authorizations for procedures, medications, and tests requiring insurance approval.
- Maintain a database of authorization requests, tracking approvals and denials.
- Work with patients in the outpatient clinic to identify and address barriers impacting care plan adherence.
- Provide resources to assist with care coordination, including social services and insurance navigation.
- Follow up with patients discharged from the Emergency Department or hospital to ensure continuity of care.
- Complete and transmit required documentation to external care provider and insurance companies.
- Maintain ongoing communication with patients.
- High School Diploma required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work within an electronic medical record (EMR) and hospital clinical information system.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Coding Certificate preferred but not required.
