We are searching for the best talent for Occupational Health & RTW Specialist, ANZ (12-months fixed term).
Purpose: Ensure the effective implementation and management, across the J&J ANZ Family of Companies, of EHW and EHS related injury/illness prevention programs and occupational safety and health risks arising from J&J operations and activities. Manage the work and non-work related Return to Work (RTW) program including coordination between injured employee, treating doctors, insurers, regulatory bodies and business stakeholders.
You will be responsible for:
Manage work and non-work related Return to Work (RTW) program under an early intervention and best practice model, including coordination between injured employee, treating doctors, insurers, regulatory bodies and business stakeholders. Ensure consistent practices and compliance with ANZ work Health & Safety and state jurisdiction Workers Compensation legislation.
Manage Workers Compensation insurer requirements including regular claim reviews, annual policy renewals, premium and claim cost reviews, and be the employer point of contact for any dispute or arbitration/conciliation processes. Oversee the services provided by the appointed insurance broker.
Implementation and management of ANZ injury/ illness prevention programs and occupational health & safety risks arising from J&J operations and activities.
Develop and support training or programs for managers and employees on key elements of occupational health, safety and wellbeing (including mental wellbeing, resiliency & energy management & ‘out of office’ ergonomic maturity).
Development and implementation of SOPs, Work Instructions, Policies and Guidelines in accordance with ANZ health and safety legislations, business and stakeholder requirements, and J&J Global EHSS and GHS standards.
Management and compliance with J&J incident/injury investigation and, reporting requirements and timeframes.
Assist with incident investigation (including near misses) and assist in the identification, development and implementation of corrective / preventative actions.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in occupational health, safety or related technical field (e.g. ergonomics, health sciences).
Preferred related industry experience: Large corporate / consulting / professional services
Demonstrated ability to provide accredited return to work coordination and rehabilitation case management in accordance with legislation / guidelines.
5+ years in a RTW-related role.
Practical understanding of Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation legislation, best practice models and application to policies, procedures and processes.
Demonstrated ability to provide accredited return to work coordination and rehabilitation case management in accordance with legislation and industry guidelines.
Understanding of physical and psychological wellbeing impacts in the workplace and ability to implement management / support / training programs.
Understanding of work health and safety processes with experience in hazard identification, investigation and risk management.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolutions skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
