A Day in the Life

The Validation Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining validation activities for equipment, processes, and systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting efficient production and driving continuous improvement.

A key aspect of the role includes supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensuring robust design transfer into manufacturing.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Validation Activities in New Product /Technology Introduction (NPI) & Design Transfer

  • Lead and support validation activities during NPI and design transfer to manufacturing
  • Define and implement process validation strategies aligned with product requirements
  • Collaborate with R&D to ensure design for manufacturability and validation readiness
  • Review product designs and specifications to ensure compatibility with manufacturing processes
  • Develop and execute validation deliverables for new products, including:
  • o    Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • o    Equipment qualification
  • o    Test method validation (where applicable)
  • Ensure robust transfer from development to production, including:
  • o    Risk assessments (e.g., FMEA)
  • o    Process characterization and capability studies
  • o    Documentation aligned with regulatory expectations
  • Support pilot builds, engineering runs, and ramp-up to high-volume production
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure a smooth and compliant product launch

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Engineering teams
  • Align product design, validation, and manufacturing requirements

Manufacturing Support

  • Provide technical support to production in a high-volume environment
  • Troubleshoot validation-related deviations and non-conformances
  • Ensure processes remain in a validated state during routine production

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (e.g., HEIG or equivalent)
  • 0–3 years of experience in engineering, validation, or manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and regulated environments is a plus
  • Internship or first experience in MedTech or pharma
  • Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing
  • English required
