About the role
Overview:
The Territory Planning & Resource Productivity role is responsible for maximizing business efficiency by optimizing territory design, field force deployment, productivity tracking, and resource utilization.
The role ensures that sales and demand generation teams operate with the right coverage, frequency, and focus on delivering business growth and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Planning & Alignment
- Design and optimize sales territories based on:
- Market potential
- Acreage / crop concentration
- Dealer & retailer universe
- Farmer reach
- Business opportunity
- Realign territories periodically based on business dynamics and manpower changes.
- Support expansion planning for new geographies.
Resource Productivity Management
- Track productivity KPIs of field teams such as:
- Calls per day
- Retailer coverage
- Farmer meetings
- Village coverage
- Conversion efficiency
- Acre share growth
- Monitor utilization of MDR/TBM
- Identify productivity gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Data Analytics & Insights
- Analyze secondary sales, liquidation, and market potential data.
- Develop dashboards and productivity scorecards.
- Provide actionable insights to leadership for:
- Resource allocation
- Coverage optimization
- Focus crop planning
- Campaign effectiveness
- Use GIS/RGIS/QGIS-based mapping for territory visualization and planning.
Coverage & Call Planning
- Define beat plans and call frequency norms.
- Ensure optimum retailer and farmer coverage.
- Improve reach in high-potential and underpenetrated markets.
- Monitor adherence to journey plans and activity reporting.
Demand Generation Effectiveness
- Align field activities with territory potential.
- Track ROI of demonstrations, meetings, campaigns, and field events.
- Improve execution productivity through data-driven targeting.
Technology & Automation
- Drive adoption of planning and reporting tools/apps.
- Work with CRM, DMS, and field reporting platforms.
- Automate productivity reporting and territory analytics.
Education & Other Skills
The minimum qualifications needed for a new employee to perform the job successfully
- Post Graduation preferably with Degree or Diploma in Management from reputed institution
- Sales experience with minimum 2 to 5 years experience in similar roles of sales force effectiveness preferably in implementation of sales force automation.
- Broad understanding of Business Basics.
