Field Service Welder

Location: Lively, ON
Work Arrangement: Onsite- Hybrid role supporting client sites and our shop as needed.

Shift: Rotation, flexible hours required.

Full Time position, 44 hours per week- overtime available.

What you’ll do

  • Fabrication & Installation: Perform fabrication and installation of large components on client sites, ensuring adherence to work orders, diagrams, drawings, and company standards.

  • Welding Operations: Execute manual welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using various techniques including flux core, stick, MIG, and plasma cutting. Maintain proper arc length and speed to meet specified fillet weld sizes and comply with CWB welding procedures.

  • Project Preparation & Repairs: Prepare projects for welding and fabrication, including plasma cutting and oxy/fuel gouging and cutting. Conduct repairs as needed to maintain equipment integrity.

  • Work Environment: Alternate between working on client sites and the Lively shop when not scheduled for site work, ensuring flexibility and readiness for upcoming projects.

  • Success Metrics: Success in this role means delivering high-quality welds and fabrications on time, maintaining safety standards, and effectively supporting project schedules with minimal downtime.

  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel to client sites is expected as part of daily responsibilities.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • CWB certification and proven welding skills across multiple welding techniques including flux core, stick, and MIG.

  • Ability to read and comprehend fabrication instructions, work orders, diagrams, and drawings.

  • Strong manual welding skills with experience in various welding positions and adherence to welding procedures.

  • Basic math skills including calculations of proportions, percentages, circumference, and volume.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working on client sites in a field services capacity.

  • Proficiency in plasma cutting and oxy/fuel gouging.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively between shop and field assignments.

  • Familiarity with safety standards and commitment to zero harm culture.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rates starting at $30.00/hour, flexibility based on years of related training/ experience.
