Essential Functions
- Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing production equipment to ensure consistent product quality
- Preparing and configuring machinery for scheduled production runs
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems
- Providing immediate maintenance support to production lines, conveyor systems, and related equipment
- Monitoring and maintaining proper fluid levels across equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance and equipment overhauls
- Conducting daily system checks, including ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and air systems
- Inspecting and repairing facility equipment as directed
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new production equipment
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Following all OSHA safety standards and company safety practices
- Supporting food safety standards and ensuring product integrity
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in a food manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience as a machinist, if applicable
- Industrial electrical experience preferred
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work any shift assigned for this position
Physical Abilities
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping
- Strong spatial awareness while working around manufacturing equipment
- Exposure to cold temperatures below 32°F for extended periods with proper protective equipment
- Exposure to noise levels above 85 decibels with proper protective equipment
Working Conditions
- Work performed in environments with temperatures below 32°F for extended periods with appropriate protective gear
- Exposure to elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection
