Role / Department

The Operational Resilience Specialist (P4) – Resilience Pillars Integration is a First Line of Defence role within the Enterprise Resiliency Office. The role supports the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity frameworks by working with key stakeholders across core resilience pillars to ensure consistent, risk‑based resilience requirements are defined, embedded, and monitored across the organisation.

The role sits within a dedicated Pillars Integration pod, working globally alongside two other partners to integrate resilience requirements across the following pillars:

  • People
  • Premises
  • Technology (including End User Computing and Cyber)
  • Third Party
  • Data

The Specialist will partner with pillar owners, change management teams, and other stakeholders to strengthen resilience outcomes, improve visibility of dependencies supporting Important Business Services (IBSs) and Important Internal Services (IISs), and support compliance with Operational Resilience and Business Continuity requirements.

The role is expected to operate with a level of autonomy and accountability appropriate to Specialist (P4) seniority, leading defined workstreams, influencing stakeholders, and providing subject‑matter guidance across regions.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Collaborate with global pillar stakeholders to define, agree, and embed minimum resilience requirements aligned to Operational Resilience and Business Continuity frameworks across People, Premises, Technology, Third Party, and Data pillars.
  • Act as an active member of the Pillars Integration pod, working collectively with pod partners to deliver a consistent and coordinated approach to pillar integration globally.
  • Support the identification, prioritisation, and oversight of resilience dependencies that support IBSs and IISs, ensuring alignment between pillar‑level activities and enterprise resilience objectives.
  • Work with pillar owners to agree processes for obtaining, maintaining, and monitoring data required to assess conformance with resilience requirements at an individual component level.
  • Partner with Change Management and relevant stakeholders to support the integration of resilience requirements into change processes, including mechanisms to identify and notify changes impacting IBSs and IISs.
  • Support the integration of pillar resilience data into enterprise tooling solutions (e.g. Fusion or successor tools), working with internal tooling and capability teams.
  • Provide input into management information, reporting, and analysis relating to resilience risks, vulnerabilities, and areas of non‑conformance across the pillars.
  • Monitor and analyse the impact of organisational, process, technology, and third‑party changes on resilience requirements, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Support oversight of compliance with Operational Resilience policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead discrete projects or workstreams with manageable risk and resource requirements, delivering outcomes to agreed timelines.
  • Act as a point of support and guidance for colleagues with less experience, contributing to knowledge sharing and consistent resilience practices.

Skills / Experience

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Strong knowledge of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity, including resilience dependencies across people, premises, technology, third party, and data.
  • Previous experience in Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Risk Management, or a related discipline within a financial services organisation.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations relating to operational resilience and business continuity, and how these translate into practical framework, policy, and control requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functions, regions, and seniority levels to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify resilience gaps, assess risk, and support development of remediation actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing clear documentation and management information.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with changing priorities and ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead defined initiatives, manage deliverables, and work independently with appropriate oversight.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive, delivery‑focused mindset.
  • Experience : 12+ years of related experience in operational control and / or resiliency.
