Job Summary
Amgen is searching for a highly motivated Finance Manager to support Amgen Manufacturing. This role will be responsible for financial planning processes such as the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and long-range planning. In addition to planning processes, responsibilities will include supporting the quarter-end close processes, variance analysis, generating business insights/improvement opportunities and updating standard costs.
Job Responsibilities
- Financial planning, tracking and reporting operational activities within the financial planning system
- Partner with peers at manufacturing sites to create / update data analysis models and dashboards to support business performance monitoring and variance analysis
- Quarter-end close support, which includes generating insightful variance explanations
- Provide support in developing and delivering executive presentations
- Provide thought leadership while developing strong partnerships with other Finance staff members / cross-functional teams to drive process consistencies and efficiencies
- Assist with coaching and mentoring junior staff
- Partner with Senior Manager team lead to manage team priorities and goals
- Support ad hoc projects and analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree AND 2 years of Finance experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree AND 4 years of Finance experience
OR
Associate’s degree AND 10 years of Finance experience
OR
High school diploma / GED AND 12 years of Finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of progressive finance / accounting experience / financial planning experience
- Ability to educate, communicate and provide financial insights to non-finance individuals
- Adaptable and able to work in a complex matrix environment
- Knowledge of key reporting systems (such as SAP/S4, MS Office, Tableau, ANAPLAN and Hyperion)
- AI tools, CHATGPT, CodeEX
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
- Proven ability to work effectively in in ambiguous situations and team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and influence personnel across functions and levels, including Management
- Ability to think strategically; Detail oriented; Strong business analytical skills
- MBA and/or CPA
- Experience supporting a biotech operations/manufacturing organization (highly preferred)
