This position is part of Novanta’s Precision Manufacturing division group.
Novanta develops cutting-edge components and sub-systems for laser-
based diagnostic, analytical, micromachining and fine material processing
applications. Powerful lasers, coupled with advanced beam steering and
intelligent sub-systems incorporating software and controls, deliver extreme
precision and performance, tailored to our customers’ demanding
applications.
Summary
The Inside Sales Representative drives revenue growth by developing strong customer relationships and managing sales activities remotely. The role supports clients in Germany and Austria, identifies new business opportunities, and helps close deals. The representative manages contracts, prepares offers, and maintains accurate data in Salesforce. This position collaborates with Sales Managers and other teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through proactive communication and reliable support.
- Identify and pursue revenue opportunities with existing and potential customers in Germany and Austria.
- Support Sales Managers in customer interactions and deal closures.
- Prepare and manage sales offers, including follow-up and closing.
- Create and manage sales contracts, ensuring accurate entry and tracking in Salesforce.
- Generate and qualify leads, capturing requirements and opportunities in Salesforce.
- Monitor sales activities and customer engagement using CRM tools.
- Maintain accurate customer master data in Salesforce.
- Plan and manage consignment stock and framework agreements.
- Review order data for accuracy before processing by Order Management.
General Tasks
- Maintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- Completed vocational training (Ausbildung) or a University degree, ideally in business, sales, or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar inside sales or customer-facing role.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Experience with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
- Strong customer orientation and professional communication skills.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written. Additional languages are a plus.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and organized.
- Comfortable working across departments and collaborating in teams
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25% travel for our quarterly sales meetings, team events, or customer visits
