What this job involves

To achieve excellence in Whitespace management programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Reports to the DC Facilities Manager.

Major Responsibilities

  • To maintain the data quality of the Data Centre assets inventory up to date (Nlyte) and ServiceNow with no exceptions
  • Monitoring various data centre metrics such as temperature, humidity, and energy consumption using the Nlyte system to ensure optimal data centre conditions.
  • Analyzing the monitored data to provide insights into data centre operational efficiency, energy usage, and potential issues.
  • Regularly checking the operational status of the Nlyte system and performing necessary maintenance and optimizations to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Working closely with the data centre operations team, facilities management, and IT teams to ensure smooth data centre operations.
  • Generating periodic reports on data centre operational status for management review and decision-making.
  • Creating and maintaining relevant technical documentation and operational guides to assist team members in understanding and effectively using the Nlyte system.
  • Onsite logistics and technical support assigned by site manager

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

  • 3-5 years Data Centre operational experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Nlyte system and ServiceNow.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft server products.
  • Expert knowledge of PC and Server Hardware as well as networking.
  • Expert understanding of Data Centre Power schemes.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills.
