Position Overview
Experienced Finance/Accounting professional to interact with operational department(s) to review and implement process efficiencies and provide expert assistance in meeting accounting and finance requirements of the Company as well as to provide assistance in identifying efficiency and effectiveness opportunities. The role will take a lead in the forecasting and reporting process within the department(s) assigned to become a key partner between them and the Finance/Accounting teams.A Day in the Life
1. Finance/Accounting Tasks for Supported Department(s) - take a lead role in monthly forecasting process and month end accruals and analysis. Ensure the accuracy of the financials for the department(s), proper capitalization and general ledger coding.
2. Budget vs Actual Tracking – work with supported department(s) with both capital and expense budgets to develop monthly tracking, and analysis. Position will gain understanding of all general ledger accounts charged to by the department(s) supported to understand and document all variances to plan and partner with department(s) to ensure plan commitments are realized.
3. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and identify opportunities to enhance existing procedures to improve control, measurement and productivity. Identify trends in financial performance, identify risks & opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
3. Performance Improvement Contribution (PIC) – Identify, execute, and/or support PIC initiatives. Respond to the needs of the Company by identifying and realizing additional expense/capital saving practices.
4. Special Projects – complete special projects as given.
You'll Come With
- Education: 4-yr Accounting/Finance degree required; MBA a plus
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years related Accounting/Finance experience preferably in a new store and construction project environment in the retail industry.
- Skills and Abilities: Advanced Excel user, proficiency in computerized accounting applications
