About the role
What You'll Do:
The Creator group is on a mission to revolutionize the creative capabilities offered to our clients across Criteo’s commerce media platform. We build the services and tools that power creative generation, optimization, and delivery at scale, working closely with ML, Product, and Design to shape the future of Internet advertising.
As part of the Creator group, you will help design and build the services that enable fast iteration on new creative experiences, while keeping our platform reliable, modular, and easy to evolve.
As a Software Engineer in the Creator group, you will:
Design and build API‑first modules that expose clear, well‑versioned contracts to internal and external consumers.
Increase modularity and decoupling of our services by defining clean boundaries, shared libraries, and reusable components.
Evolve existing services towards a more composable architecture (domain‑driven design, well‑defined interfaces, event or message‑driven patterns where appropriate).
Improve reliability, observability, and performance of our services (logging, tracing, metrics, dashboards, SLOs, capacity and incident management).
Collaborate closely with ML/Fullstack engineers and product teams to design APIs and data contracts that make it easy to ship new creative and optimization features.
Drive API‑first development practices: from design reviews and documentation to testing strategies (contract tests, integration tests, performance tests).
Contribute to technical direction on topics like service decomposition, dependency management, security, and privacy‑by‑design.
Participate in the full development lifecycle: ideation, design, implementation, code review, deployment, and production follow‑up.
Who You Are:
You have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
You have solid experience building backend services or APIs in production, in at least one mainstream language (e.g. Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, Python, C#).
You are comfortable with API design (REST/gRPC/GraphQL or similar), including versioning, backward compatibility, and documentation.
You have experience with service‑oriented or microservice architectures, and you care about clear boundaries, ownership, and interfaces.
You are familiar with modern infrastructure (containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud or large‑scale distributed systems).
You care deeply about code quality and reliability: testing, observability, monitoring, and gradual rollouts are part of how you work.
You enjoy collaborating in a cross‑functional environment, explaining technical trade‑offs to non‑specialists and incorporating feedback.
You are comfortable working in an international, multi‑cultural team, communicating in English (spoken and written).
Nice to have
Experience building platforms or shared services that are consumed by multiple product teams.
Exposure to ML‑driven or data‑intensive systems (feature stores, model serving, data pipelines) and interest in partnering with ML engineers.
Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.) and asynchronous workflows.
Familiarity with API governance (guidelines, linters, design reviews) and security best practices (authn/z, secrets management, rate limiting).
What we offer
The opportunity to shape the engineering foundation of Criteo’s creative platform, working on services that directly power our most visible products.
A modern tech environment with strong engineering practices, autonomy, and room to take ownership.
A multi‑disciplinary team where ML, product, and engineering collaborate closely on ambitious problems in Generative AI and dynamic creative optimization.
A culture that values continuous learning, experimentation, and knowledge‑sharing, with real impact on billions of ad impressions worldwide.
We know that not everyone meets 100% of the requirements. If you feel you can bring value to this role and to the Creator group, we strongly encourage you to apply.
We acknowledge that many candidates may not meet every single role requirement listed above. If your experience looks a little different from our requirements but you believe that you can still bring value to the role, we’d love to see your application!
