Staff Digital Design Engineer
About the Role
As a Staff Digital Design Engineer, you will lead complex digital design projects and provide technical leadership for system-level architecture. You'll influence product direction, guide methodology improvements, and lead small technical teams. This position requires deep expertise across multiple technical domains and strong cross-functional collaboration skills to drive innovation and excellence in digital design.
Successful candidate will be responsible for the digital design and verification tasks in state-of-the art ASICs for MEM's products which are found in a broad range of markets including automotive, industrial and consumer. Candidate will participate in the complete product development cycle from concept to release, and post-release activities (FA). Candidate will work with the application and design team to establish the digital specifications for MEMs gyroscopes and accelerometers products. Candidate will participate in the design, implementation, verification and validation of DSP cores, building blocks (such as various types of digital filters, controllers and sequencers, FIFO interfaces, clock and interrupt generations, custom digital features, etc.) and/or the overall digital system integration.
Key Responsibilities
Define and develop system-level architectures for complex digital designs
Lead technical teams on complex digital design projects
Guide methodology improvements and best practices across the organization
Influence product direction and technical roadmaps
Collaborate across functions to drive innovative solutions
Engage directly with customers on technical requirements and solutions
Mentor engineers and help develop technical talent
Must Have Skills
Design high performance digital blocks for the latest generation (MEMs) accelerometers and gyroscopes
Participate in all stages of product development, from architecture concept through release to sales and beyond
Knowledge of micro-Electro-Mechanical systems (MEMs) accelerometers and gyroscopes is a plus
Solid knowledge of Verilog language is a must
Familiar with industry standard bus protocols such SPI, I2C, etc....
Experienced in block level digital designs (ex: FIR, IIR digital filter designs)
Experienced in design of multi-stage digital filters for decimation and interpolation purposes
Knowledge of analysis tools such as MATLAB is a plus
Front end implementation tasks: Lint/CDC check, Synthesis, Timing constraint development
Work with DV team, review test-plans and debug designs for DV signoff
Work with DFT, P&R teams for DFT and timing sign off
Knowledge of mixed-signal verification is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with teams spread geographically
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
8-12 years of relevant experience in digital design engineering
