A Day in the Life
The IT Business Analyst partners with business and technical stakeholders to understand strategy and operational needs, then translates those needs into documented use cases and requirements for process and system improvements. The role analyzes current processes, performance, and operational metrics to recommend improvements based on industry trends and business expertise. Responsibilities include facilitating information gathering, using data analysis tools to identify key insights, improving training and procedures to increase efficiency, supporting solution evaluation and functional specifications, and overseeing requirements through project delivery. The analyst may also plan and execute user acceptance testing and facilitate cross-functional teams to resolve business or system issues.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Engages with business leaders to understand how strategies and data-driven changes can improve efficiencies and add value.
- Work with data sets to define use cases to improve products, processes and/or services.
- Collaborates with Business Relationship Manager (BRM), business stakeholders and IT Product Owners / Managers to develop business requirements for product or system changes.
- Drives business agenda during solution delivery process.
- Functional Skills: Ability to analyze data and trends in order to develop recommendations to solve business problems.
- Additional Skills: Problem Solving, Detail Oriented, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Customer Service, Process Improvement, Communication.
- Technology: Understanding of systems, software and technological concepts, Familiarity with data analysis tools and data modeling methodologies.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience with a with a High School Diploma or equivalent or Advanced Degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- May have practical knowledge of project management
- Fluent English
