About the role
The Clinical Staff Pharmacist provides generalized pharmacotherapy services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient populations. The position prepares or supervises the preparation of routine pharmaceutical items, and compounded sterile and non-sterile preparations. This position communicates and collaborates with physicians, Clinical Pharmacy Specialists and patients, to provide clinical consultation, monitor drug therapy, and offer cost-effective alternatives, as appropriate.
The schedule is primarily day shift, with rotating coverage that includes occasional evenings, overnights, and every third weekend. Current hours are 7:15am–3:45pm (days), 3:00pm–11:30pm (eve), and 9:00pm–7:00am (night).

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Consult with and advise other Healthcare professionals and patients on matters pertaining to selection, procurement, distribution, and safe and appropriate use of medications.
Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, inventories, controlled substance records, and registries.
Manage the disposition of controlled substances and other dangerous drugs in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor drug therapy regimen for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, appropriateness of drug and dose.
Provide clinical pharmacy services, as outlined in approved hospital policies, including but not limited to: pharmacokinetic consults, renal dosing, parenteral nutrition management, anticoagulation management, neonatal/pediatric/geriatric dosing management, route optimization, antimicrobial stewardship, and reviewing medications at transitions of care.
Participate in scheduled in-services, educational presentations, computer-based training, and staff meetings, to ensure ongoing understanding of and adherence to professional standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy
Preferred Doctorate Pharmacy
1 year Hospital Pharmacy Preferred
Registered Pharmacist (RPh) - State Licensing Board
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association As required by unit
