About the role
About us:
As a Fortune 50 company with more than 400,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers. Joining Target means promoting a culture of mutual care and respect and striving to make the most meaningful and positive impact. Becoming a Target team member means joining a community that values different voices and lifts each other up. Here, we believe your unique perspective is
important, and you'll build relationships by being authentic and respectful.
Team overview:
Roundel is Target’s retail media network—built on the power of first-party data, brand-safe environments, and measurable business outcomes. We are redefining what “value” means in advertising by building transparent, performant, and privacy-forward ad platforms that drive growth for our clients.
This is a high-impact, high-growth area for Target, and a chance to help shape the future of retail media.
Role overview:
We are looking for a Product Manager (L5) to own and evolve display ad serving capabilities across Roundel’s owned and operated properties. This is a deeply technical, platform-oriented role focused on ad delivery systems, event tracking and logging, observability, and data integrity at scale. You will work at the intersection of ad serving, data infrastructure, and measurement, ensuring our systems are reliable, transparent, and built for scale.
If you enjoy solving complex system problems, improving reliability and performance, and building foundational AdTech capabilities—this role is for you.
What you’ll do
Own the product vision and roadmap for display ad serving across Roundel’s O&O ecosystem
Drive end-to-end ad delivery capabilities, including request handling, decisioning signals, logging, and event pipelines
Partner closely with engineering and data teams to design scalable, low-latency, high-reliability systems
Build robust eventing and logging frameworks that power billing, reporting, and measurement use cases
Improve platform observability through monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, and debugging tools
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across ad serving, reporting, and downstream measurement systems
Collaborate with measurement, analytics, and campaign management teams to enable seamless workflows and trusted reporting
Drive continuous improvements in system performance, automation, and operational efficiency
Define and track success metrics (SLAs, latency, delivery accuracy, data completeness) and use them to guide prioritization
How you’ll work
At Target, Product Managers operate in a product model, owning outcomes—not just outputs.
You will:
Set clear product strategy and OKRs aligned to business and platform goals
Lead product discovery by combining customer feedback, system insights, and data
Maintain a single, prioritized backlog across product, engineering, and data science
Work in tight partnership with engineering, data science, and stakeholders
Act as the voice of the product, balancing business needs with technical constraints
Drive clarity in ambiguous spaces and simplify complex systems into actionable plans
About you:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of Product management experience with exposure to AdTech or data platforms
Strong understanding of ad serving systems, event pipelines, or distributed systems
Experience building platform or infrastructure products (not just UI-driven features)
Comfort working with concepts like latency, scale, reliability, logging, and data consistency
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and drive execution with engineering teams
Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate independently in a fast-moving environment
Strong analytical thinking and a data-driven approach to decision making
Clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good to have
Experience with retail media networks or programmatic advertising
Familiarity with measurement systems (impressions, clicks, attribution, billing)
Exposure to observability tools, experimentation, or anomaly detection systems
Why this role matters
Ad serving is the backbone of Roundel’s platform. The systems you build will directly impact:
Revenue accuracy and scalability
Advertiser trust and transparency
Measurement fidelity and reporting quality
This is a chance to work on mission-critical infrastructure in one of the fastest-growing areas at Target—and shape how modern retail media platforms operate.
