Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
  • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.

Join Barclays and our Loan Closing team as a Distressed Loan Closer AVP and take accountability of a dynamic portfolio of Par, Near‑Par, and Distressed trades booked by the Trading Desk. In this role, you will navigate a fast‑paced environment where precision, sound judgment, and considerable analytical capability are essential to mitigating risk and ensuring timely settlement. You’ll partner closely with trading, settlements, and other key functions to resolve highly detailed fixed‑income and equity transactions, while applying your knowledge across loan distributions, restructurings, and system workflows. Success in this role requires a high level of accountability, technical proficiency across core platforms, and the ability to adapt quickly as deal structures and priorities evolve.

To be successful in your role as a Distressed Loan Closer AVP, you should have:

  • Extensive Loan closing experience with Par/Distressed/Equity trade closing

  • The ability to work closely with trading and settlement functions investigating multi-layered fixed income and equity transactions. Prior experience with loan distributions and reorganization events.

  • The aptitude to learn new software/applications

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, Clearpar, Loan IQ.

  • Broadridge, BPS, Impact, Gloss (Equity and Fixed Income systems experience)

This role is located in Whippany, NJ, with a secondary location in Wilmington, DE.

Minimum Salary: $70,000.00

Maximum Salary: $133,000.00

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
