About the role

Location: Harmsworth Media Head Office - High Street Kensington, London
Position: Permanent

About the Role

Are you a data-driven marketer with a passion for high-quality journalism? Harmsworth Media is looking for a CRM Executive to join our team.

In this role, you will be at the heart of the growth strategy for two of the UK’s most respected titles: New Scientist and The I Paper. You will be responsible for executing a multi-channel strategy that touches every part of the subscriber journey - from the moment they onboard to long-term retention and win-back. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with 1–2 years of experience to leverage a world-class CRM platform and deliver truly personalised customer experiences.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Execution & Automation

  • Support the Head of CRM in delivering our overarching roadmap
  • Audit and evolve automated lifecycle programs, including welcome series, renewals, and win-back flows
  • Partner with internal data teams to identify segmentation opportunities and maintain database hygiene
  • Manage a rolling A/B test plan to ensure every touchpoint is optimised for conversion

Campaign Management

  • Own the end-to-end production process: from creative ideation to technical deployment
  • Platform Expert: Build and deploy sophisticated campaigns within Sailthru, utilising its full suite of automation and personalisation tools
  • Ensure all tracking and technical triggers are flawlessly implemented

Insights & Reporting

  • Analyse performance using Google Analytics and Sailthru reporting tools
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Editorial
  • Proactively manage email deliverability, rendering, and technical troubleshooting

Quality & Compliance

  • Build high-value audience segments based on real-time user behaviour and intent
  • Act as the final "quality gatekeeper," ensuring all communications are on-brand, technically perfect, and mobile-optimised
  • Ensure all activity remains strictly compliant with GDPR and data privacy regulations

About You

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 1–2 years in a dedicated CRM or Email Marketing role
  • Experience with Sailthru is a significant advantage (though we will consider experience in Braze, HubSpot, or similar)
  • A basic understanding of HTML/CSS for troubleshooting email templates
  • Proficient in Google Analytics and Excel for data manipulation

Core Competencies:

  • Copywriting: You have a natural flair for writing persuasive, engaging copy that resonates with curious and informed audiences
  • Analytical Mindset: You don't just report numbers; you understand the "why" behind them
  • Attention to Detail: You have a sharp eye for detail and a "right first time" mentality
  • Collaborator: You can build strong bridges between editorial, tech, and marketing departments

Package Description

Our benefits package increases the longer you’ve been with us. Here’s what to expect:

  • 25 days’ holiday (increasing by 1 per year up to a total of 30)
  • Pension plan and life cover
  • Discounts on online shopping, dining cards and vouchers, and access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Onsite gym, subsidised canteen and onsite nurse and GP clinics

Plus much more...
