General Notes:
The Center for Advancing Teaching Excellence supports Moody College faculty and graduate student pedagogy training initiatives, teaching resources, and use of educational technology.
Purpose:
The CATE Graduate Assistant collaborates to maintain the CATE website, design and update new TA training, and create asynchronous teaching resources.
Position Open To:
Moody College graduate students preferred, will consider any UT graduate student application
Position Duration:
5/26/2026 - 4/16/2027
Responsibilities:
Create, monitor and update website information
Create, monitor and update CATE messages for Moody College communication channels
Contribute to and provide editing feedback on training materials,
asynchronous resources, and other written communications
Support training presentations for new faculty and teaching assistants
Increase knowledge and skills in pedagogy and educational technology towards being able to co-present for CATE events
Other routine administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Currently a full-time graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin in good academic standing
Active interest in pedagogy and university teaching as a profession
Completion of 398T Supervised Teaching Course or a similar pedagogy course
Teaching or training experience
Excellent oral and written communication
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Able to work independently and collaboratively
Maintain confidentiality related to teaching challenges in compliance with FERPA
Prefer high level of proficiency with UT-supported teaching technologies, including Canvas, MS Office Teams (including Copilot)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Canvas, Drupal web design platform, and prior experience as a TA/AI in Moody College
Salary Range:
$15-20/hour
