Additional Information:

The Volunteer Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Volunteer Engagement to assist with coordinating/implementing Volunteer Engagement programming, including adult and junior volunteer programs (onboarding, annual compliance, ongoing stewardship), special events and group volunteers, and the in-kind donation program. Maintains records for each program and submits required reports for all areas to meet required deadlines.

Required Education:

High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Recommended Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

Required Work Experience:

High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.

Description

1. Coordinates and implements the adult and junior volunteer programs. Is responsible for cultivating relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer positions that align with the strategic goals of AC. Creates training materials that are used to orient, train, and manage volunteers. Is responsible for maintaining all required records, submitting required reports, and conducting annual program evaluations.

2. Coordinates and implements the in-kind donation program. Responsible for cultivating relationships with in-kind donors, for sorting and distributing items received across the system, and for maintaining all records and reports for in-kind donations.

3. Is responsible for onboarding, scheduling, and supporting volunteer service, including weekly hospital placements (Adults and Juniors), as well as episodic special event volunteers and group volunteer service projects. Develops volunteer position assignments and collateral that align with the strategic plan and mission of the hospital and meet state and other regulatory agencies. Develops training materials to support the position assignments. Conducts orientation sessions for volunteers that clearly communicate and effectively teach educational requirements. Is responsible for volunteer satisfaction rounding.
