The Position

Mission Statement

Finance Enterprise Partner is a critical role to maximize Revenue and Profitability by acting as a Co-driver and Guardian of the business.

The role's core mission is to provide a holistic, forward-looking financial view of the Japanese In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) market, enabling leaders to make faster, better strategic decisions.

Finance Enterprise Partner is not a support function but an active co-pilot of business performance, sitting at the intersection of finance, strategy, and commercial execution to establish a profit-driven company culture to achieve long-term company ambition.

Core Responsibilities

Finance Enterprise Partner will mainly focus on three core pillars:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

[Planning & Forecasting]

  • Lead & facilitate the rolling forecast events: drive annual budget, monthly forecast, and mid-term planning, ensuring strict alignment with commercial strategy.

  • Design and maintain comprehensive financial models: incorporate volume, price, product mix and cost assumptions to ensure robust and agile financial planning.

[Performance Monitoring & Visualization]

  • Drive performance reviews with clear and actionable visualization: produce executive-level dashboards and visualize performance by portfolio, product, and segment to foster shared understanding and clarify current financial positioning for next actions.

  • Own the Gross Margin bridge analysis and prepare financial commentary, KPI scorecards, and forward-looking outlooks to clearly explain variances between actuals, budget, and prior periods with clear business narratives.

[Business Insights & Scenario Planning]

  • Provide actionable business insights: proactively identify risks and opportunities in P&L and bring data-driven recommendations, focusing on actionable strategies beyond mere analysis. Translate macro market trends (pricing pressure, tender cycles, aging demographics) into quantified financial impact and scenario analysis.

2. Advanced management decision support

[Strategic Profitability Management]

  • Evaluate and challenge current strategies for new and existing businesses. Conduct product-level and customer-level margin analysis to identify revenue growth opportunities, surface dilutive contracts, and prioritize high-value segments.

[Financial modeling for Complex Deals]

  • Partner on strategic deals: build deal-level financial models, ROI analyses, pricing frameworks, and risk-adjusted projections. Participate in key customer strategic business reviews, providing top management with value-added financial insights and suggestions, bringing financial credibility to commercial discussions.

[Smart Risk Taking & Problem Solving]

  • Enable "Smart Risks" for complex business cases: establish a collaborative system with business members to advance tough and highly complex business cases. Maximize value by providing expert quantitative analysis, consultation, and improvement proposals that drive strategic decisions.

3. Foster Profit-Driven Culture & Establish Organizational Governance

[Profit-Driven Culture]

  • Foster financial acumen across the organization: contribute to profitability improvement and cultural change by embedding a mindset where all employees routinely engage in activities for profit improvement as their own responsibility.

[Cross-Functional Value Creation]

  • Drive cross-functional financial initiatives: partner with Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Finance Excellence and other groups to model the financial impact of cost reduction initiatives and portfolio rationalization.
