About the role

Job Description:

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Sr. Analyst at Mars you will lead the global SQA process for MARS, working with suppliers and cross-functional teams (Global Commercial Sourcing, R&D, Manufacturing) to ensure food/material quality systems meet MARS Q&FS standards, while driving supplier development, continuous improvement, and audit initiatives across Pet Nutrition and Royal Canin categories with expertise in food, chemical, and materials science.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Science, Agricultural science, Engineering, Food technology, Food Safety, Chemistry or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of food industry
  • Proficient in technical auditing related to FMCG raw materials (Required)
  • Knowledgeable in quality management tools & techniques experience e.g. SQA, SPC, LEAN, and HACCP
  • Good interpersonal skills and can influence cross country & Region clients globally without authority
  • Experience in facilitation and leading technical programs and change management in a multisite FMCG business
  • A passion for driving continuous improvement & quality standards within Mars and externally within the supply base.
  • Can perform under pressure; handle several high-profile projects over the same timeline.


What will be your key responsibilities?
1.Sourcing strategy support/ collaboration:

• Sourcing strategy MSSM support/ collaboration

• Drive Global sourcing strategy as SQA category lead

• Re-shape Global sourcing strategy as SQA material category lead

• Accountable for MQSM-Material Quality Strategy management on the identified material categories

• Lead NSQ project for Value leadership, Innovation, Sustainability etc.

2. Quality Management:

• Lead the Mars SQA audit

• Global Material specification development and communication for X-regions

• Drive the Global SPEC and MRA standardization

• Drive operational excellence of supplier base against MQM standard

• Quality Summit trainer for supplier classroom training on Quality system, Q&FS standard, QM methodology & Tools, case sharing etc.

• Initiative/qualification/ supplier capability building

• Supplier development, continuous improvement

• Support the supplier to investigate and resolve material non-conformances

• Drive SQA Metric and ensure the data quality

• Supplier and material performance Review & Management

• Assessment and confirmation of supplier capability

3. Supplier Scope:

• Global: NA, EU, SEA/APAC, ANZ, IND, South LATAM, Brazil, Mexico, Emerging countries

4.Prospector:

• Communicate to the buyer the business opportunities identified through supplier contacts Function Expertise:

• Develop technical expertise in the production of raw materials and keep up to date with technical developments in the industry

• Provide technical support & identified material knowledge building to OE/BU SQAs

5. Communication/Engagement/Collaboration:

• Unplanned request management support

• Emergency handling & BCP communication on the risk based, ensure the global supply

6. Ambassador program:

- Full responsible for service management for the region/receiving BU based on the allocation plan.

- Global Category SQA team/system/procedure etc. introduction, way of working communication, Key projects/priorities/issues sharing

- New SQA team member training/coach from the allocated region/site - Global Category SQA new Opportunity looking to meet our HPC strategy/vision

- Feedback collection, Service management

- Semi-annual/Quarterly or even more frequently talk. System/ Program - Manage communication and expectations with Global stakeholders including buyers, SQA, R&D etc.

7.System & program leader:

• Lead certain following Global Category SQA programs: Eg. Supplier summit/Digitalization transformation/Ambassador Program/Capability building/Training program/Budget Tracking/MQSM/ Audit Calibration etc. Informed:

• Inbound verification testing performance
